I would have liked a little more action, drama, suspense, but got a fair amount of foreshadowing. Nancy not only saved her ass, but opened up new directions and story lines by playing on the Mexican machismo. Wish there was a longer season, can’t wait till next one.

With the shortened season the writers were probably forced into a deadline and they had to do something to wrap up the multiple plot lines and I think the episode nailed it. The cliffhangers are golden.

The episodes are way to short, but i came in the finale with alot of suspense, and really clueless on how they would end it. The ending was a fucking mouth drop,this show is still the top show out there, next season is MEXICO for sure. Nancy will have to move there with her family because of the DEU, Silas will grow in mexico, Shane will be sent away for dealing pot, fack i hate predicting this shit, its to intense.

I’ve been watching weeds since it began and I have to say I wasn’t entirely fond of the second half of this season, including this episode. The end of season 2 was the best because it really took the entire series, which had been up to that point a soapy drug drama and kicked it up 10 notches in season 3 (best season) to an ongoing roller coaster ride of fun and action, without giving into the other sell out cliches of TV series (JJ Abrams!).
However, this episode made me realize that they’re running out of ideas. Obviously Mary Louise Parker will make every one of her acting moments shine, but the writers need to start thinking of SMART moves to make with their characters. I’m tired of Celia’s racism and elitism. I’m tired of everyone else being completely irrelevant to Nancy’s show. I’m also tired of watching the same episode. Formula: Nancy breaking down because she’s a bad mom + Nancy continuing to make awful decisions + Nancy having a pointless revelation + Celia not having a heart anywhere + Andy and Doug making cliche “male remarks” + a kid getting a bit of story that has nothing to do with the overall picture.
I hope the next season doesn’t make the same mistakes as this season. I really hope they get more involved in Mexico. America is boring as hell. Also, I miss Doug’s son. Why isn’t he back stirring up some mayhem as well.
The gay cops were boring and irrelevant. I understand there needs to be a legal aspect being that the show’s about drugs, but it wasn’t used right. The homosexuality had no purpose to the plot.
The show is called WEEDS. Not Heroine, Guns, Prostitutes and sometimes Weed. Lets get back to the core of the show. Bring back Doug’s son, get the roller coaster moving again, and keep everyone making smart decisions.

This season was my first watching Weeds, I caught up on all the previous episodes on this site. I’ve gotta say, the soul of the show was the suburban ridiculousness in Agrestic. The contrast with Conrad and Heylia was great…but they had to do “something new” so Conrad and Heylia were “written out” of the season (poo poo, Showtime) and we get Mayor Esteban, Guillermo the Gangster, would-be Sex-Mex Maria, and the gay DEA agents. I thought they were a better gay insertion in the show rather than the more ’stereotypical’ Sanjay (with his mercy-!@#% baby!?!?) but… next season is going to see another major change. I personally believe they destroyed Doug’s character, to say nothing of Isabelle becoming just another b-plot. They even had to remind us she was a lesbian with a line of throwaway dialogue one episode!!!
If Nancy really is pregnant (not just faking it as an insurance policy to save her family…) then you can bet it’s going to be the main arc for the whole season. If Silas was going to grow in Mexico and sell to clubs, they should bring back Heylia and Conrad. Wasn’t she going to start a club at the end of Season 3? The major arcs set up for Season 5 so far:
-The Baby
-Celia held hostage!
-Silas, Andy & Doug’s grow-op
-Shane selling pot at school
Anyway…yes the writers should get back to the core of the show. Heck, maybe they should move into a Mexican suburb and introduce a “Mexican Nancy Botwin” weed mama.

Wow!!! I think the should get back to good ‘ol weed. I think it was a pretty stupid idea to get Nancy prego. Other than that, I was pretty cool. Sarbear, if you don’t want these comments to ruin the finale for you, why the fuck did you read them before you watched the episode, duhhhh. Tom, I know Doug has a son, but I don’t remeber him every being in the show besides brief freneces. I miss Condrad and Heylia. Season 2 and 3 were the best!!! I have a theory. Conrad was out for this season, but he was a too big of a character with a plot line that was just beginning to heat up in Season 3. Nancy is pregnant, but in the timeline, how long has she really been with the Mayor? How far along is she? Weeds is great with cliffhangers and has more twists than an M. Night Shyamalan film…Could Nancy maybe be carrying Conrad’s baby…and what effect does peyote have on a fetus?

Doug’s scene was the best part – even the creator thinks so – the title is an homage to the phrase “Better get busy living, or get busy dying.” ALL of ya’ll (except boo) missed this HUUUUUGE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION REFERENCE!!!!!!!!!!!! One of the best of many references Doug makes all the time – not to mention he totally caught me off guard with one of the few tv examples of autoerotic asphyxiation (I think Queer as Folk showed scarfing once). Thank God they are going to tie up the loose end with Celia’s other daughter….its a couple of seasons too late. Jenji can draw things out too much sometimes (kinda like conrad and nancy finally fucking in season 3 – big surprise,I had waited so long I didnt care anymore). This season however takes the normal formula and turns it on its head. New place, new cast, different dynamic, evolving/aging characters, and every single time you think you could predict the outcome, we got another curve ball. Also too Nancy is no longer in her suburban dreamworld, now she must take responsibility for actions. This is Jenji’s classic bait and switch on a much bigger scale. Next season will be a huge return to form with lots of fan pleasers, tied up loose ends, and returning characters. Don’t you appreciate Conrad and Heylia a lot more now that she’s made you “miss them” for awhile???? we’ll see…….

Personally, I thought this was a good way of ending the show. However, the legalization overtones should come back to the show. It seems as if Silas is throwing away his whole future. So is Shane. Pot growing as a young kid will not fly in Mexico if he doesn’t have protection. A little white boy competing with the drug dealers in Mexico is bound to get shot. That’s reality.
Once they bring back Heylia and Conrad, I will be happy. Conrad was Silas’s grow teacher!
I think that Doug almost committing suicide but not hanging himself was a great twist! Masturbating with the noose around his head, AMAZING!

in response to the few of you that sound confused about the ‘doug suicide scene’, basically, he was not actually committing suicide, they just wrote it in a way to get the audience all worried and riled up, with the sincerity of his letter to his wife, to get you to think ‘oh no! he’s writing a letter to his wife, and he’s setting up a noose, i didn’t know he was REALLy that unhappy!!’ but then they bring it around in a full twist, with him telling his wife to fuck off, and then what he was doing is what someone mentioned above in the comments, i guess the technical term for it is “autoerotic asphyxiation” where dudes partially hang themselves and masturbate, and apparently it has a very good effect for the orgasm or something . . i don’t know a lot about it, but i have heard about it or seen it in some movie. . .
i think the pregnancy makes sense. i was wondering how they were going to possibly get nancy out of that situation, and i couldn’t imagine any bargaining or deals like she has done before . . .this is the only thing that could prevent him from killing her, i think . . .and who knows, maybe he still plans to once she has given birth!
yeah, nancy started out ’smart’ and ‘doing it for the kids’ but really we see later that she just loves the challenge and excitement, and it is DEFINITELY not about her kids in seasons 3 and 4!! she’s completely on her own trip, fucking up shit left and right, and fucking every man . . . . leaves her husbands memory behind and with it her kids to their own devices!

as for this episode, major pros and cons; Andy’s realisation was a good development for his character…the pregnancy twist could have been much better…especially because we’re going to have to believe that season 5 is going to begin on the same day in that same room…whenever episodes are continued, i think it just gets unrealistic (why 24 is so stupid…when does he eat? go to the bathroom?)

This season finally started to get interesting when the human trafficking began, when the DEA put the pressure on . . . I was not thrilled with Nancy being pregnant. I didn’t see that twist coming, though it seems obvious in hindsight. I’d say it’s legitimate and not a ploy, seeing as Andy commented that her boobs were bigger than expected. Someone else commented that the cops being gay added nothing to the plot. I disagree. The agent losing someone who is partner in more than one way is a stronger, angrier more motivated character.

Are you guys watching the same show I am? It was the most obvious thing the finale threw at you, God damn people. Although I like the comment on it being Conrads kid, that would be an excellent way to bring them back into the story and end this bullshit with the shit-skinned mayor.

Either Nancy is not preg or she is preg with Conrads baby. If Nancy is preg with Esteban’s baby bringing back Conrad will not work.
Plus the border or mexico setting is played out. Esteban and his crew go to jail and Nancy and family should go back to the suburbs.

Is anyone else as tired as i am of assholes posting negative comments? Dont like the direction that the show is goin in watch something else douche bags. True this season hasnt been a typical weeds season but think of the direction that show is goin in? As far as the drugs go its only common sense that it wouldnt just be weed that comes through the tunnel come on dumbasses its a fucking drug tunnel from Mexico. This season is more about the characters coming into their own or moving on with life for ex. Shane is growing up having sex and it looks like he is gonna join the family business. Silas is now 18 and has a grow operation. Nancy is falling in love and having someone finally reveal how they feel about her. The show is moving forward but it did take a step back by bringing back Quinn, I hope that next season Celia just escapes on her own and we dont have an entire season dedicated to rescuing her. Oh and to bring back Dougs cock smoker of a son would be pointless, how many of you know what actually happened to his character? Theres also a reason that Helyia and Conrad are gone they needed to leave since U turn died and they were only in the third season to pay back the debt that they got into thanks to Conrad and Nancy. So lets stop dreaming and hoping that characters that have no further story line come back and just enjoy the show.

I think she is pregnant. But they havent been there (beach house) that long… meaning it could be Conrads… from season 3 – i believe that was the last person she was with before the mayor guy. I hope it is Conrads- I miss him on the show! I love the chemistry they had and was really hoping they were going to hook up- when they did- wow! it was awesome!
so it would be great if in season 5 Nancy goes to the Dr. and they tell her how far along she is – she starts putting a timeline together and finds out its not they mayor guys- that would give the writers reason to bring Conrad back.- and gives them a twist in the story/plot.

I don’t think that Nancy is pregnant, but I do think that when she was on the phone with Esteban she realized that he knew something, and so she started thinking on her feet and broght the ultrasound picture. I hope hope hope there is a next season – this is my all time favorite show and I don’t know what I’m going to do while I’m waiting for season five!!(:

Hmmm, I forgot about Doug’s son. Was he the kid in the pilot? The one who was selling drugs to children and Nancy was pissed so she threatened to tell Doug that the son was gay? I forgot about Quinn, too. I don’t like them leaving storylines alone for three seasons and then being like “YEAH! REMEMBER BLAHBLAHBLAH?” Because I never do remember it. It’s turning into Grey’s Anatomy (for Grey’s fans, I’m talking about the Izzy-Denny thing that keeps getting brought up) The only thing distinguishing it is that they change their supporting characters every five seconds. Anyway, I like the twist at the end. The episodes leading up to it were a little boring, though. But I love that Nancy may or may not be pregnant and has a sonogram to boot! I don’t think she is pregnant, though- I think that’s Silas’ or Shane’s from years ago that she’s keeping around. Also- WTF I MISS CONRAD!!!! He and Nancy are made for each other!!!!

anyone else think that that sonogram could be from Shane or Silas? Nancy is a smart woman but I do agree, I liked the finale in the grow house (season 2?) a lot better. The only holy shit moment for me was when quinn went all bad ass.

Weeds keeps getting better as the show progresses.This episode is not my favorite but had a nice twist.My all time favorite was season 1 episode 1 the pilot. Thanks for this great site – I know it’s a lot of work to keep a site like this going.

You need to find alternate hosts so deletion isn’t a problem. I can’t watch this over at showtime for some reason and was recommended to come here. Zshare and Novamov are good places and there’s also zipping it for file download and using a file hoster like 4shared (has to be split) or Filefront (up to a gig a file). Awesome work, appreciated.

This was really boring for a finale. It was an okay episode, just boring. Good ending I guess, but come on, you know they aren’t gonna kill her unless it’s a series finale so I was expecting some crazy twist that saves her as always so I’m not really surprised.
I miss Agrestic/Majestic. This new place was cool for a few episodes but it’s getting old.
