Synopsis: Nancy tries to protect Shane and Silas from new enemies. Esteban deals with a campaign problem that could put Nancy’s family in more danger. Andy reconnects with Audra and makes a commitment to a new life plan. Meanwhile, Celia connects with a new pot supplier. Dean and Doug team up to take down Celia’s new operation.

is it only me or do you guys think that the show is becomeing worse and worse all da time? the 1st 3 sesons were the best…. i dont know anymore…. and is shane becoming alcohlic? like wtf? i want silas to move to amsterdam and open a cofeshop that would be sick.

@omg:thank god someone else said that. in the first three seasons there was a alot more going on, now they r focusing on 1 subject, plus theres a lot less growing and selling pot now. plus the whole soul of the show was the suburban feel in agrestic

Well Shane wont take the pills so alcohol is the only option for pain killer. Parents do it all the time. (does anyone recall meet the parents 2? lol) Its too bad this life changed Nancy to a violent person. In the other seasons she would never wanted anyone dead. She would be sneaky or her friends like Conrad would set things in motion to get her out of a situation without death as an option. (remember when Conrad beat up the campus guard or when he shot melvin in the ass). I guess since family is on the line you fight back fire with fire. Anyways about time Nancy and Esteban got married. Everyone want Andy and her to get together but i think it would be sick. You’re brother is dead so take his wife and kids? wtf. In all the boy’s life they known him as UNCLE Andy.

I like it, I think it gets better and better. I agree that the show isn’t so much about her selling pot anymore, but I think it’s still a great show and every week when the episode ends I want more mOrE MORE!

i love weeds season 5 just as much all of season 1 etc.. cant say for your age demographic, but i aged with weeds and my humor has matured. this show has the best writers and benji is amazing. i appreciate each season for its own comedic performances (which never fail!) i think the dramatic story lines are much more true to life than any other show leads too…..obviously each character will evolve into an entire new character! have any of you had drug dealers in you life?!?!? lifetime drug families are all violent if necessary i am sure, nancy isnt violent she just does what she has to do. she isnt a soccer mom, isnt that the whole premisise? so what if shane is a teen drunk, how many are there on the west coast alone, how many left in the nation that are not dependant on something. drugs, pot, alcohol, food, pills, sex, porn, etc….
our country is full of dependant people. i have a dependancy, and i would be surprised if one of you DIDNT have a dependancy!
i applaud the great cast for their versatility, benji from sharing with us, the writers for reaching some many of us fans and i guess to my fellow fans for their dedication to watch.

I think season 4 started slow and got better as it went and it’s been the same with season 5. Overall I still think it’s a quality show.

@Dee Dee: Shane isn’t using the alcohol as a pain killer. He said in the episode he likes the pain.
@cialis: all drug families are not violent when necessary. That’s a stereotype. I know a mother who deals weed to her kids friends and shit, and they’re perfectly normal. You could never tell if you didn’t know. But I agree, while Season 5 hasn’t had as much to do with weed, it has still been pretty good. They need to make it a bit more complex though.

Nick-that’s because she’s only selling to kids. The bigger you get into the drug world, the more dangerous it becomes and you’re only choice is to become a more violent person to survive. This show shows that exactly. I know plenty of drug dealers who live normal lives because they’re just dealing to make some extra cash-not making it their life.

so why did nancy say to [the guy in jail], i dont remember his name, well we are married for 15 more minutes. i dont think she married estaban, somehow i think she married the dude in jail, just to get the conjugal visit with him. that is why they were talking about sex and she said that is not what i came here for. wow. i am kinda confused.

Guillermo is his name. She somehow nancy married him, to get the conjugal visit, to talk to him in person and not on the phone so it was private so she could tell him that she wanted pilar dead.

OK nancy pretended to be guillermo’s wife to get the private visit. her “married for 15 more minutes” comment was sarcasm eluding to this fact. She is married to esteban.
show def. started out slow this season but has been building up as it usually does. i’m sure the finale will be a major cliffhanger as usual.
a lot of you talk like you know about the drug business but i’m fairly certain that the majority of you are sitting in your parents house acting “hard-ass” just because you learned a thing or two on TV or at school. why not discuss the show and leave the “I know more dealers than you cause i’m cooler” bull for somewhere else.

i agree with clarifier, i think that apart from the first 2 all the seasons had slow points but always managed to build it up into a great ending. cant wait to see what season 5 ends on

My goodness. If this show revolved around the Agrestic pot growing business like the first few seasons it would be dead by now. The show is evolving just like most peoples lives. Things change, people change. I love this season just as much as the previous four. They do say weed is a gateway….

Weeds never fails to disappoint, everything evolves…thats the point of no more theme song, shane is starting to go in not good directions, Celia goes from a city coucil person with an anti drug theme and is now selling. Sit back and enjoy it and look forward to it every week.

my 2 cents on the show “weeds” is that it is intended to be like the drug its named after
at first experiences, it is euphoric and stimulating.
further interactions with it
*episodes, theme songs*
only causes more of a desire for that beginning experience,
however,
whatever length it will take to get back to that feeling,
we are willing to go there.
We are willing to tune in each week, of each season to see if it takes us there…
like stoners or junkies feenin for the next bowl or fix,
thats what a t/v show is supposed to do to its audience….
how can you question its evolution or direction when you tune in each week to check it out???
i am thoroughly amused by your critique!!

@ Theresa—Nancy obviously lied to the jail authorities about being married to Guillermo so that she could get in to see him in a private setting. She can’t very well discuss offing someone in front of others during a regular jail house visit.

coungual visits r for husband and wives in prison, u can actualy fuck your wife and everything. Thats why guillermo was like “u wanna fuck?” She obvously told them that she was his wife to see him privately like that. I know ppl that smuggle stuff into jail like that, i was thinkin (but i kno Im prolly thinkn too much into it) that maybe the cake she handed him had something in it to help him either break out and/or accomplish the task she just mentioned. And shes wants her dead becuz the bullet in shane was meant for her. She is simply getting the price off her head. I bet pretty soon theres gunna be a crazy conclusion to the Esteban side of the story and they are gunna end up away from all the mexicans and everything with a huge wad of cash starting everything over again.

As stated before, dealing can and often is a violent business. Yeah, life was nice in Agrestic, but a storyline HAS to change, otherwise it gets old fast and often ends. If it were still the happy-go-lucky show that was in Agrestic, it would likely be boring. How many more schenanigans could they have gotten into there?

Thanks for the responses. I understand what she was trying to do, sometimes I just get so caught up, I forget it is tv, bc I think so logically and she could not have gotten into jail on just her word that they were married in real life.

At the beginning when it showed a book that showed a drawing of a womans vagina…was that suppose to symbolize Sylas reading a book to get to the pussy of Estabans daughter? That is the only linkage I could make.
